Dr. Bethke-Jaenicke (50) studied economics at the University of Heidelberg and subsequently completed a degree in business administration in Hagen.
From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a project assistant at the Institute für Kreditwirtschaft at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien), where he completed his doctorate in the field of bank sales. In 2000, he returned to Germany and joined the top-management consultancy Droege & Comp. as a consultant. In his role as project manager and since 2007 as a partner, he has been responsible for a large number of optimization projects for banks. At the beginning of 2009, he founded the consulting firm Horn & Company in Düsseldorf together with Dr. Horn. There, Dr. Bethke-Jaenicke and his partner colleagues manage the "Banking" business area. His project portfolio covers the entire value chain of banks and savings banks: From strategy development and the initiation of change processes to revenue enhancement/sales mobilization, back office optimization/risk management and efficiency and cost reduction programs. Digitalization and, increasingly, the agilization of the organization play a role in almost all of his projects.
