Biography and expertise

In 2007, Dr Florian Merz switched from theoretical physics to consulting, as in physics one also learns a lot that can be applied outside the lab and create value: like the analysis and development of models, providing new solution paths. Over more than 16 years and 40 projects in a wide range of companies this led him to his core topic of data management and governance.

From DWH and data mesh to self-service BI, from data strategy and compliance to cloud: his consulting approach at d-fine stands for technical and methodological innovation and experience in the life cycle of data architectures. The objective is to create sustainable solutions with added value and a high level of acceptance, which neither lead to bad compromises nor produce giant projects. Dr Florian Merz works with a team of excellent and highly motivated colleagues from which leading project roles such as data architects, project managers and test managers as well as business analysts, IT developers and testers for data management can be provided.
