"You always have to be up to date because consultants are expected to incorporate the latest findings from economics and science into their consulting service."
– Maureen John
How was your application process?
My application process was in three steps. First, I simply sent my resume to Anja from HR. After that, I had a first introductory conversation and already had an initial feeling that it was a good fit. In the second and third conversations, I talked with a partner about my professional content and planned development. I was directly on the same wavelength with all the conversation partners and knew that AdEx Partners was the right choice for me. I then had my offer within a week. The entire process was uncomplicated, and I had a contact person at HR at all times.
Why did you decide on this job?
For me, the decisive factor was that I could shape both, my own career and also the strategy of the company. That's why AdEx Partners, as a growing hidden champion, is exactly the right employer for me. In addition to the participatory culture, where everyone gets involved where their strength lies, cohesion is also promoted. The appreciation and openness that were shown to me in the job interview showed that at AdEx, the team works with each other and not against each other.
What does your typical workday look like?
The work as a manager is very varied, and therefore, of course, there isn't the one typical workday. What drives me every day and what I do daily is the discussion and solving of the challenges and problems of the customers. Mainly, I work from home or in the client's office. Proximity to the client and close communication are crucial for the success of the consulting service, and therefore I spend part of my day in meetings and workshops. The contents are as varied as the people and clients we serve.
What is great about your job?
Always working on future-oriented topics keeps the tension and variety in the job alive. As a consultant for M&A and digitalization strategies, no day is like the other, and every project and every task is a new challenge. In addition to this exciting work environment, at AdEx, I can divide my times and contents in a way that suits my current professional and personal situation. This flexibility motivates me to perform every day.
What challenges does your job bring with it?
Every project brings new challenges. As a consultant, you enter a new company, and high performance is expected from day one. At the same time, you always have to be up to date because consultants are expected to incorporate the latest findings from economics and science into their consulting service.
What makes your team stand out?
My team is characterized by different people with individual class coming together and creating something great. Already in the job interview, I noticed that we all pull together and pursue a clear goal. It's simply fun to work together and to be appreciated.
Why does your employer suit you?
AdEx suits me because we are flexible and have an exciting development behind and ahead of us. We call it a "participatory company," and I love getting involved and developing things. At the same time, AdEx offers me the opportunity to choose my projects myself and to do what I enjoy and have fun with.
What personal/professional freedoms does your employer offer you?
I can shape my professional development at AdEx Partners just as I like, as well as my workday. I can choose the projects I want to work on myself. Even though I haven't taken advantage of any special arrangements myself, I know from other colleagues that flexible working time models, workplaces abroad, or topics like parental leave, etc., are absolutely no problem.
What opportunities does your employer offer for your professional development?
Besides the freedoms to shape one's own career, there is a wide range of training and further education opportunities. External training that has not yet been offered at AdEx can also be attended at the company's expense. All in all, a wide range of professional developments is possible with a proactive approach.
