Career start in spare parts planning

When I started my Master's degree in Business Administration (specializing in Business Analytics & Operations Research), I hadn't yet thought about what I would do afterwards. Many of my friends from my Bachelor's degree had stayed in their internship company, but my internship companies were either abroad or in liquidation. My fellow Master's students often weren't sure where they would start their careers either.

'In my team, we connect the individual participants in the spare parts supply chain to ensure better parts availability and transparency.'

One evening at the summer party of a student initiative, I met a fellow student who told me that he was writing his Master's thesis with a logistics consultancy. As I had already written my Bachelor's thesis in a company, I wanted to try the same for my Master's thesis and we got talking. He said that he could ask and that he thought it was very likely that I could also write my thesis there. He passed on my request and a few weeks later I was in contact with the company. After three rounds of interviews, I was finally given the go-ahead to do an internship and then write my Master's thesis.

Throughout my time studying at the company, I gained a lot of insight into the work of my team and was also allowed to take on some tasks myself. I liked it so much that I gratefully accepted the offer of employment and was allowed to go on a business trip to Hamburg straight away in the second week. Although I've only been here full-time for just under 3 months, I really like it, I can try out something new every day and get full support from my colleagues.
