Who are the customers of TAH? And what does a "typical" project look like?

Our clients are predominantly leading energy suppliers in the DACH region. We also advise other players in the European energy industry, such as technology companies, industrial companies and public institutions. Even though we have a niche focus on energy trading and sales, there is no such thing as a "typical" project. What characterizes most of our projects is that we support our clients holistically - from strategic issues and conceptual topics to their implementation and operational challenges. This is also reflected in the fact that we maintain long-term relationships with the majority of our clients.

The energy industry is an existentially important sector. Was that a reason for you to join The Advisory House? What makes the industry so appealing?

When I was thinking about starting my career, the industry was already systemically relevant, but that was not as widely perceived as it is today. For me, the upheaval that the energy industry is still undergoing was the decisive factor. The energy transition and its success is one of the key challenges of "my" generation. Being actively involved in shaping this has a special appeal. I also find working in interdisciplinary teams enriching and motivating. This is necessary due to the complexity of the industry, driven by the physical properties of commodities and closely related regulatory requirements, among other things. For example, the automation of short-term electricity trading, the introduction of a system for scheduling gas-fired power plants or the evaluation of a pumped storage plant always require in-depth technical and regulatory know-how in addition to business expertise. An interplay that is always exciting.

You have been with the company since 2016. What makes The Advisory House so appealing?

Internally we call it the "TAH spirit" - you have to experience it, of course, e.g. during an internship. TAH has maintained a start-up-like atmosphere over the years and has an open communication culture with flat hierarchies, where people work together as equals. Everyone can contribute ideas, launch initiatives and thus help shape business development. Training programs are individually tailored to employees. A high degree of personal responsibility is encouraged from the start, which goes hand in hand with flexibility in the organization of one's own work. On the other hand, we work with largest energy corporations on the current challenges of the industry in our day-to-day projects, which for me is the best of both worlds.
